While Sloan works with a variety of individuals, groups, and teams across many sectors and seasons of life, her clients typically are mid-level corporate leaders. They are often balancing the work required to meet the needs of multiple stakeholders - customers, their teams and employees, leaders above them, as well as business partners and peers - all while executing their own work commitments and striving to lead fulfilling personal lives.
Individual coaching for a new leader leads to more effective leadership and results
"Transitioning from an individual contributor to a manager for the first time in your life can be a challenging time for anyone, especially for someone that is early in their career managing a team of peers and those with more experience sometimes. Additionally, there were additional pressures of now having to manage up to leadership. Coaching allowed me to work through some challenges that I was facing as a new manager using various techniques learned through Sloan, to arrive at decisions or action plans on my own and become a more effective manager. Sloan does a great job provoking thought, which can sometimes come in the form of uncomfortable silence, but I have in turn learned some coaching techniques as well and have used them in daily conversations with my team. There is no set agenda, so you work through issues that are affecting you at that time, like having a tough conversation with your manager, transitioning from an employee’s peer to manager, managing through turnover, and how to have a conversation that an employee is underperforming. I never thought I needed coaching until I started facing some of these daily challenges and it has made me a much more effective leader in my current organization."

Interactive team development leads to improved communication and productivity
"My team and I have greatly enjoyed working with Sloan on various team building and personal development initiatives. Sloan’s natural empathy allowed her to gain trust quickly from a (potentially) skeptical group. Her use of real-world examples and interactive team exercises enabled my team to easily relate outcomes from programs such as Myers-Briggs to their daily personal and professional lives. Several members of my team subsequently undertook one on one coaching programs with Sloan where she went to great lengths to personalize objectives and subject matter for each participant. I have frequently seen sustained improvements in team dynamics, communication and, ultimately, productivity following our time with Sloan."
